Why You Should Ditch the Hotel and Rent a Vacation Home in Orlando
There’s a reason that Orlando is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world. With Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld calling Central Florida home, there are seven major theme parks in the area, as well as dozens of smaller attractions and a wide variety of restaurants. Plus, Orlando is only about an hour’s drive to the nearest beaches and close to hundreds of places where you can connect with nature.
This is why Orlando is known throughout the world mainly as a family destination. Visitors from across the U.S., South and Central America, and Europe come here to enjoy the fun and the sunshine with their families. Plus, this area is a popular choice for organizing reunions, whether it’s for your extended relatives, high school or college classmates, fraternity or sorority. Orlando is the world’s premier vacation spot!
As you might guess, being a top destination also means that Central Florida is near the top of the list when it comes to the number of hotel rooms, too. A lot of visitors don’t realize, though, that there are alternatives – namely, vacation rentals. And once they discover the benefits of renting a vacation home, people rarely go back to hotels.
Why are vacation rentals better?
As much fun as a family vacation can be, it can also be a little stressful. There’s so much to do in Orlando that you want to see and do as much as possible. That means getting everybody ready to go out and start each day, figuring out where you’re going to eat, coordinating transportation and more. Now imagine trying to do all that in a cramped 300-square-foot hotel room where you’re all constantly tripping over each other. (Maybe you don’t have to imagine it. Maybe you’ve lived it!)
That’s why the first big advantage in our list is about space.
Vacation rental homes provide a lot more space than standard hotel rooms
There are several types of vacation rentals available, with many of them being actual homes in residential neighborhoods. That means you can enjoy most of the conveniences you have in your own home while on vacation. Unlike hotels, vacation rental homes have individual bedrooms, including a master bedroom with its own master bathroom. You’ll find a separate living and dining room, or a great room that combines the two. You can park your car in a garage instead of a parking lot. Plus, most vacation rental homes have a private backyard, many with a swimming pool.
In a vacation rental home, you and your family can stretch out and relax without bumping into each other all the time. You can stay up late watching TV if you like, without keeping everyone else awake. You can even find a peaceful spot on the back patio where you can relax and read. Plus, you have the privacy of a standalone home on its own property.
You have a fully furnished kitchen
With a full kitchen – including a refrigerator, stove, oven and dishwasher – you can go to the grocery store and stock up right after you settle in, something you can’t do from a hotel room. That means you don’t have to eat out for every single meal. You can wake up, make your own coffee and have a bowl of cereal or toast a bagel, while you lounge around in your jammies before starting the day’s adventure. You can also plan a few meals throughout your stay and cook a real dinner, or make the kids peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches for a mid-afternoon snack. Think of all the money you’ll save!
The convenience of a washer and dryer
Not that anyone wants to do laundry when they’re on vacation, but you’d be surprised how convenient it is to have this amenity available, instead of having to trek to the hotel laundry room. For starters, you don’t have to share it with other guests, so you won’t get there and discover that all the machines are already in use. Having your own washer and dryer allows you to dry wet towels quickly, instead of hanging them up to air dry. It’s also convenient if you, or one of your kids, spills something on your clothes. Finally, you have the option of doing all the laundry the night before you leave and packing clean clothes for the trip home.
At SBA Interior Design, we work with vacation rental owners throughout Central Florida to help them turn their home into your dream vacation home, so we know what a great experience it is for vacationing families. Plus, the rates on many vacation homes are very reasonably priced, so you can find a lot of value! We definitely recommend renting a vacation home for your next Orlando adventure!
