Make Your Home More Appealing to Renters With These Features!
When families go on vacation, especially when they head to Orlando to visit the theme parks at Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando, they want more than anything else to create amazing memories. Those memories are about much more than what they do while they’re on vacation. It’s just as much about the time they spend together as a family, and a lot of that family time happens in the place where they wake up in the morning and go to sleep at night.
A big part of renting your vacation home to vacationing families is to talk about it as a “home away from home.” In other words, unlike a small standard hotel room, renting a vacation home means you can stretch out and relax. You have a full kitchen, so you don’t have to go out to eat for every meal. Everybody gets they’re own bedroom. It literally is a home.
That said, there are hundreds of vacation home rentals in Central Florida. So how do you make yours stand out from all the other vacation homes people can rent in the area?
You do it by adding unique features that are there for the “Wow!” factor and will make the memories they create in your home incredibly special! Here some of the top added features you should consider adding:
A swimming pool. For families with kids, vacation wouldn’t be complete without a day or two splashing in a cool, refreshing pool. Plus, unlike at a hotel or resort, your renters will have the pool all to themselves, which makes it even more special. If you also make the pool deck a unique, comfortable environment with attractive outdoor furniture and accessories, it’s the perfect place for families to relax and play!
A well-appointed kitchen. Even if they don’t plan to prepare their own meals very often while they’re in town, a beautiful, spacious kitchen with granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, and tile floors can make a huge difference. Plus, when you advertise your vacation rental online, photos of a nice kitchen make a huge impact.
Jacuzzi tubs. People want to relax when they’re on vacation and, after a long day at the theme parks, there’s nothing more relaxing than soaking in a Jacuzzi with the jets on. Most people don’t have one at home, so having a Jacuzzi in the master bathroom feels like a real vacation luxury! And a Jacuzzi also makes for a great photo!
Themed kids’ bedrooms. In Orlando, there is no shortage of themes to choose from, thanks to all the characters featured at the theme parks. You have a lot of choices when deciding how to decorate kids’ bedrooms, such as a Disney princess or Marvel superhero theme. Or, you could pick a sports theme, like soccer, a gaming theme, or decorate it with colorful nature scenes. Whatever your taste is, the possibilities are practically endless!
Game rooms. Having fun is the whole point of going on vacation, so why not have some when you’re “home,” too? Dedicate a large room to games for adults and kids by adding a pool table, filling a closet with board games, and setting up a TV for gaming or watching sports. This is also a great place for a bar, especially if your renters plan to entertain!
Home theater. This is another luxury most vacationing families can’t experience at home, so enjoying one on vacation is a special treat! For your guests, it’s a place where the whole family can gather, select a movie, dim the lights and enjoy the experience as if they were in a real movie theater. Check out our earlier blog for more details on how to add a home theater to your vacation home.
Adding one or two of these features will increase the likelihood that your vacation home will be in high demand. That means it will be rented more often, and you’ll be able to charge a premium rent for it!
