Exciting News from Orlando’s Theme Parks!
Even though Orlando is known as the family vacation capital of the world, exciting new attractions are planned for all of Central Florida’s major theme parks – including Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld Orlando. Between now and the end of 2019, visitors to the area will have plenty of new experiences to choose from. Plus, there are even some surprises in store from the area’s smaller theme parks. So it’s a great time to vacation in Orlando!
Toy Story Land – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Walt Disney World and Pixar Animation Studios have been partners for many years, bringing fun and excitement to movie screens and Disney’s Hollywood Studios for years. In this next adventure, you’ll be able to shrink to the size of Andy’s famous toys from the movie, Toy Story, and have fun with Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Rex and the whole gang! Excitement is building for rides like the Slinky Dog Dash, a family-friendly roller coaster, and the Alien Swirling Saucers. And when you’re hungry, you can stop for a bite to eat at Woody’s Lunch Box.
Infinity Falls River Rapids – SeaWorld Orlando
Take a ride through the rainforests of South America on this heart-pounding river raft ride. Once you board, you’ll be thrust into a wild rapids ride that focuses on conservation. The climax of the Infinity Falls River Rapids is a 40-foot drop, the tallest in the world for a river raft ride! Expect to be drenched, a perfect way to cool off during a hot summer day.
Harry Potter themed roller coaster – Universal’s Islands of Adventure
Universal Orlando is being somewhat secretive about this project, but here’s what they have revealed: A new thrill ride based on the Harry Potter books and movies is under construction and planned for an opening some time in 2019. Universal is calling it “a new generation of thrill ride,” adding that, “One of the most highly themed roller coasters ever created will be coming to Hogsmeade.” We can’t wait!
Star Wars Land – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
The Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land promises to stand alone among Disney experiences. Guests will feel as though they have boarded a starship that brings stories and characters alive all around them as they travel through the galaxy! Every cabin window looks out on amazing views of the vastness of space. Guests will even be able to dress attire inspired by the Star Wars movies. Talk about total immersion!
The Skyliner gondola system – Walt Disney World Resort
A brand new system for moving guests around Walt Disney World Resort by gondola is on track to open in Summer of 2019. The Skyliner will link Epcot, Hollywood Studios, the Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s new Rivera Resort and the Art of Animation/Pop Century Resorts, and has an estimated capacity of up to 5,000 passengers per hour. Of course, the gondolas will be decorated with plenty of Disney magic and offer scenic views of the resort.
For almost 50 years, Orlando has been a magical place where families come to enjoy amazing vacations and build memories that will last a lifetime. With these new attractions in the works, Central Florida promises to continue being a magical place for generations to come!
